Spending priorities are skewed Black and brown people get screwed Demote the Police Work to increase funding for housing and food Overhaul health care for all Spend on food banks, not a wall Refine Police Let their role decrease Change their defined protocols No submachine guns or grenades No tear gas or police barricades Downsize Police Preserve the peace Don’t kettle or withhold first aid Budgets show what we stand for We must end the war on the poor Downgrade Police Let spending increase On schools or the opioid war Mental health needs more attention Hunger and disease prevention Deprioritize Police Bullets should cease Stop putting black men in detention Remove the police from all our schools End policies that are just cruel Divest in Police Invest in Peace Give front line workers the right tools Deploy more nonviolent means Help redirect wayward teens Recreate Safety Redefine Safety Don’t always call cops to the scene Work to end incarceration Encourage de-escalation Reduce the Police Their funding decrease Spend more on fair education Tactics like chokeholds must end Rights of all races defend Replace Police With workers for peace Make this our new spending trend Bodies cams on when engaged Or all of us should be outraged Reform the Police Their numbers decrease Get more social workers engaged Usher in sound bail reform Youth programs should be the norm Transform the Police Greatly decrease The role they’re allowed to perform Right idea wrong slogan, yet It represents a new mindset A complete Overhaul of how City Hall ensures a robust safety net
