Prepare the Guard, they refused
They brought ammunition
Encouraged sedition
The lies, they did not disabuse

Pentagon Officials were fired
Truth tellers and others retired
Facebook groups surged
While Eastman urged
Pence to get what they desired

Capitol Police not prepared
Intel across agencies not shared
As The Proud Boys attacked
Trump just sat back
No state of emergency declared

His kids and his pals at Fox News
McConnell and even Ted Cruz
All implored Trump
To get off his rump
To do something but he refused

Then Mitch laid the blame at Trump’s feet
But then fearing GOP defeat
Walked that way back
Now has Trump’s back
Of GOP Trump has made mincemeat

Yes, the signs staring us in the face
The lies get more and more boldfaced
Now I am beckoning
If there’s no reckoning
We won’t even recognize this place
