On the anniversary of the insurrection
Let us pause for some deep reflection
And resolve to
Do all we need to
Ensure inclusive and fair elections
For our fragile Democracy to exist
The laws of the land must persist
Both sides of the aisle
Must fend off the bile
From an avowed narcissist
The ex-Pres is surely twisted
Even so he has enlisted
The sad GOP
To complete fealty
To him, this he has insisted
Must see to believe, say some
Others, who are brainwashed or dumb
Have to believe it
Before they can see it
To them a comeuppance must come
If I vote for some R and some D
On a single ballot how can it be
That only D’s are fraud
I am simply awed
At the flawed logic of DJT
The next insurgency won’t be a riot
It will be stealthy and quiet
Dem votes will be spurned
Elections overturned
We should see this with great disquiet
Voting rights, we must now save
Or consequences will surely be grave
With repugnant swagger
They hold a dagger
That will put Democracy in a grave
At this point, as a nation where we go
The kind of country we want to be, oh
Should be decided
By the People, undivided
Not a twisted sore loser’s ego
