Just Another Day in the Trump Era 7-15-20

I got up and opened my door
To see what the paper had in store
I open it with dread
This is what I read
Not sure I can take it anymore
 
The demise of the Post Office begins
With DeJoy, the private sector wins
Trumps wants this moron
To screw Amazon
Leaving unsent mail in the bins
 
With the roll-back of NEPA, the places
With the most poor each now braces
For bad water and air
But Trump does not care
He’s an environmental racist
 
The jobs data from the SBA
Tells the story Trump wants to convey
But they are fiction
Not a depiction
Of how many jobs went away
 
From the recent Barr v Lee case
Comes another abhorrent disgrace
The path is now clear
After 17 years
A federal execution took place
 
The CDC’s job is quite hard
Their reputation’s been marred
Since Trump can’t control’m
He’s gonna roll’m
And send in the National Guard
 
And then there is Trump’s Moncef Slaoui
I challenge him to explain how he
Can pass the ethics test
And refuse to divest
But Trumps knows that he’ll be kowtowy
 
And to add to the joy of this day
It’s the deadline for taxes to pay
COVID cases are growing
And there’ no way of knowing
What new Trumps lies are on their way
